Prior to becoming a business and employment lawyer, Mr. Kellman enjoyed a distinguished career as a Chief Executive Officer in the retail, publishing, and hospitality industries.  On a daily basis, he puts that “real world” experience to use on behalf of our clients.  His practical advice on recruiting, hiring, compensation, discipline and termination frequently resolves conflicts before they ripen into litigation.

When a lawsuit is necessary, our clients place well-earned confidence in Mr. Kellman’s courtroom skills.  In state court, federal court and government hearings, he has successfully defended hundreds of clients, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, against claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and related issues.  On a selective basis, Mr. Kellman also represents individuals with meritorious employment claims.

Mr. Kellman is a skilled negotiator with a reputation for getting deals done.  He has managed numerous employment audits and has overseen all employment issues arising from mergers and acquisitions.  He is proficient at drafting the entire array of employment-related documents, from executive employment and confidentiality agreements to policy manuals.

Mr. Kellman is a member of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  He appears regularly as a guest speaker for the California Employment Development Department.  He is admitted to practice before each of the United States District Courts in the State of
California and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Kellman is a summa cum laude graduate of UCLA.  He received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was also named Distinguished Advocate in the Roscoe Pound Moot Court Tournament.

PLEASE NOTE:  Barry Kellman also provides training in all aspects of employment law for business owners, managers and Human Resources professionals.
